Crochet is normally an Isa thing but I decided to try something called “Freeform Crochet”, with all the yarn and needles we have it was pretty easy to just express myself with random spontaneous shit, it was pretty fun

I decided to learn freeform crochet :D
If this piece works out and I manage to keep up the interest long enough to make it large, I will make it a moss blanket!

Good news
I crocheted a hand warmer for my right hand! The challenge was making a hole in part of it to accomldate my smart watch. I ended up splitting it into 2 panels, top of arm/hand and bottom. On the bottom i did a kind of ribbed look by doing the single crochet then only doing the backloops. Then on the top i did a giant magic circle knot and then did like idk 20-30ish single crochets. Then i built that circle up (so my watch can peek through) and them created 4 corners by stacking a single crochet, a half double crochet, a double crochet, a triple crochet, another double crochet, another half double crochet, and finally another single crochet, with each group of such stitched creating its own corner.. then on one side of the circle/square with a circle missing, i built up various half double crochets, single crochets, and a double crochet to corver my wrist above the watch, as well as my hand. Then i sewed the 2 together, leaving space for the thumb. I
#i ended up making it a little big on accident#but i was just wingin it so im considering this a jumping off point#bc my hands get cold and i LOVE wearing my galaxy watch#but gloves and watches dont mix well... until now#freeform crochet#no patterns#just vibes

So, I used my drop spindle and spun up 4oz of this gorgeous merino + stellina fiber and then plied it.
I gave the yarn a little bath and thwacked it. Once dry, I made these skeins.
I decided to make fingerless gloves with it! A custom combination of pin loom weaving and crochet. The first one is almost done. They have been dubbed gauntlets and I adore them! They make me so happy!!
One gauntlet almost done!!
I have a ridiculous amount of the yarn left over too! I'm probably going to knit or crochet a headband.
I've already started spinning my next batch of yarn and it's so exciting. I'll add some pictures tomorrow and hopefully I'll have at least one gauntlet complete by then too :)
